Unleashing the Photonics Spectacle: Our Dynamic Event Series

Career in Chip Industry - Navigating Challenges, Embracing Opportunities....

We’re delighted to present the key moments from today’s seminar, a collaborative effort by the IEEE Photonics Society Student Branch Chapter and Optica Bangladesh Student Chapter, University of Dhaka.
Our Speaker, Dr. Naznin Akter covered the basics of the semiconductor industry, starting from the collection of sand for the silica to the final step of packing it into a fully functional chip that powers our daily lives. Afterwards, she shared her inspiring journey of how she achieved something she only dreamed of as a young student, a job at Intel and working in the heart of the industry.

Podcast : "Dui Prishthar Bisheshoggo"

EEE Photonics Society joins IEEE Student Branch University, IEEE WIE Affinity Group Student Branch University of Dhaka and FABLAB DU, for a brand new episode for your close-to-heart podcast “দুই পৃষ্ঠার বিশেষজ্ঞ”. The motivation for this series podcast journey was to chitchat with the students of the University of Dhaka who have worked as researchers or achieved something amusing with their strategic approaches during their undergraduate degree. They share their ideas, and how the journey began. From where they got the inspiration to work.

"A Talk on Nanophotonics: Our Recent Research Endeavors"

We are thrilled to share the highlights of our inaugural event, a seminar that took place today. The event was an incredible success, and we are overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasm shown by all those who attended.
🗓 Date: 31.08.23 ⏰ Duration: 1.5 hours (approx.)
👥 Attendance: A total of 74 eager minds joined us for this insightful seminar. The turnout was impressive, and it’s heartening to witness such dedication to learning and exploration. Among the students, We had 38 attendees from the Dept. of EEE, 27 from the Dept. of Physics and 2 from the Dept. of Oceanography. We were also very honoured to have the presence of 7 exceptional faculty members from the Dept. of EEE and Dept. of Physics.

"The Optical Insight: A Photonics & Optics Article Writing Contest."

Optica Student Chapter (DU) in collaboration with IEEE Photonics Society Student Branch Chapter (DU) and Optics and Photonics Club (DU) are excited to announce our event
“𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 𝐀 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭”!
This competition provides a fantastic opportunity for students to explore the world of light and its applications. We invite students to submit original articles on topics related to photonics and optics, highlighting their importance and impact in various fields. The competition aims to encourage students to delve deeper into the field and gain a better understanding of cutting-edge research and innovations in this rapidly growing area.
